Sonia vs. nature

I killed a cockroach with a giant rock today! It was my first time, and it felt amazing. Other than that, the construction site we were working on today was hot, dusty, infested with red ants and roaches, and populated with sweet families. Together with the community workers, our teams worked on demolishing and rebuilding two cute little tiny houses for families. We've really only started on the digging and getting the foundations in, but we'll get there. One more thing, I think I've found my passion: I really enjoy digging. Digging also taught me that patience is the key to success, because it takes quite a while to stake the rocks and loosen the soil before shoveling can even take place.

  1. Dear Team Manila,
Thank you for your reports again. We enjoyed reading them and knowing what you are doing. We miss you. The school is very quiet with all the high schoolers gone. When are you coming back? We can't wait to hear more details and see pictures. We pray that you stay safe finishing the houses. We pray you sleep well. We pray you come back soon. We pray you make good friendships and enjoy the kids. We pray that you have a good time.
    Love,
    1A (Miss Garber's Class)

  2. Thanks for your prayers! They are helping keep up pretty safe. The sleep prayers are definitely appreciated, as it's really hot and loud during the night, so it is difficult to get a good night's rest. All the students are working really hard and doing their best. We can't wait to tell you more after we get back!
