Manila 2012-2013

“Today, I met a kid named Joseph who immediately stole my heart. I never thought of myself as an emotional person, but this kid has challenged me. He has cried 3 times today and I’m not a cryer by any means. There is something about him I adore. Maybe it’s because he is so raw with his emotions and that’s a trait I wish I had. He has these eyes that reflect a deep innocence and a smile worth getting to know. I may just be biased because he brings me flowers but there is something about him I am drawn to. There is this pull to actually try and possibly affect his life for the better.” I found this entry in my Week without Walls journal from last year placed on some shelf in my room gathering dust. In Manila this was meant so much to me, it was a diary, a counselor, and a safe place to write all my thoughts and feelings. I had completely forgotten about this life changing experience, until I read about again. Sometimes we all need refreshers about amazing experiences that we are blessed to have happen in our lives. Ready for memories, adventure, and heartache Manila 2012 here we come!
