Smiling kids at every corner!
Today morning we were separated into groups like painting, construction and nursery. We finished the painting today. And this afternoon we are going to paint a mural altogether.

Packing away the food supplies for the feeding ministry

Today as I shoveled and mixed concrete for construction I was channeling my mother.  Jane Ellis is the strongest willed, hardest working female I've ever known, and I'm happy that from a young age she and my father have emphasized how important work (and more specifically physical labor) is. All this to say, Happy Birthday Mom!  Thank you for making it possible for me to have this experience, and for preparing me in every aspect of my life so I can get the most out of it.
Can't wait to talk to you in a few days! Miss you very much.  Happy Birthday!

Beginning construction on the playground that is sponsored by our 3rd graders
A good time of painting and visiting is at hand. Lots of smiles in the Philippines! ICS people are being stretched! Hugs and kisses to Mrs. Moore and Joy! Happy 1 1/2 year birthday Joy! Congrats to my brother in law and sister in law on the arrival of my new niece! See you all soon! - Mr. Moore

Today some of the students went to the children's home to hold babies and play with the toddlers, another group finished putting the finishing touches on the murals at the school, a third group started digging the holes for the playground equipment (which was delivered yesterday and bought by the 3rd grade class at ICS), and a final group worked on the second story construction at the children's home.  This was only the beginning of our day.

Unloading a container truck for supplies for the ministry
After lunch we moved 150 boxes from the front of the building, down the stairs and stacked them up in the back.  The men (not boys anymore) helped unpack the container the day before.  We then worked on painting the wall behind the basketball hoop at the school and preparing it for the mural. Lastly some of the students went to help with the feedings, and after dinner a group of students went to the children's home to do the nightly devotion.

Before
So here I am at 7:29pm.  I have one more min. before I'm late.  We will move into group sharing, worship through music, testimonies, debrief of the day, devotions and finally small group time.
At the end of the day we will fall into our beds at 10:30 and sleep like a rock knowing that today was a day that we served with all our hearts and got to be a part of what God is doing here in Manila.  -Tammy Goetz-

  1. Thank you for taking the time to update us even though everyone must be tired by the end of the day.

The walls that you guys painted looks so pretty, maybe my walls might need to be painted when you guys come back :)
